“Sudoku Barrette” Beading Tutorial #13873

I made my mom a beaded barrette for Christmas this past year and she liked it so much I decided to make her a few more for Mother’s Day. This time, I wanted to come up with a monochromatic design that included variations of the same color so the barrettes would coordinate with what ever variations she wore of her favorite colors. Because my mom loves to play Sudoku to keep her mind sharp (it’s apparently working because she’s sharp as a tack at 80+), I thought it would be fun to work a Sudoku theme into the design. What I ended up with is a repeating pattern consisting of 6 beads across by 6 beads down, in which no single color is repeated in either direction (just like the numbers in a Sudoku puzzle). The barrettes came out so pretty that I decided to make a pattern for the design to share with you! This pattern consists of 60 high resolution photos and easy to follow step-by-step directions (as well as a full color diagram of the Sudoku pattern). This is a great project for all skill levels that produces lovely barrettes in your favorite colors that will beautifully compliment your entire wardrobe! Happy beading!
