Christmas Tree Star Ornament Beading Tutorial #260
This sweet and simple “Christmas Star Ornament” is a fun holiday project for beaders of all skill levels – including absolute beginners! This versatile design (measuring just over 3" – 4", depending on the size beads you use) was recreated from a cherished keepsake made by a customer's beloved departed mother. This ornament reminds us of simpler times filled with colorful church bazaars and holiday craft shows, and older folk teaching younger folk how to make the most of the holidays. So, slow down for just a bit, put some cider on the stove and cookies on the table, gather some beads and some loved ones, and join together to make some “Christmas Star Ornaments” and wonderful memories this holiday season. Thank you for shopping Simple Bead Patterns, and as always, bead happy!

Materials & Quantities Needed
Your purchased beading tutorial will include a detailed materials list of everything you'll need to make this project, including quantities and, in most cases, color information (see more about Bead Color Information below).
Substituting with Different Beads or Beading Materials
Many of our designs can be made using comparable beading materials. For example, if our pattern calls for 4mm round pearls, in most cases, you can use different types of 4mm round beads instead (such as 4mm round fire polished beads). Please note: If the pattern is for a bead weaving (or stitched) project, it's typically not recommended to use different sizes of beads than those recommended, as the original design may not work out as intended. You may also substitute recommended materials with your preferred brand (for example using Nymo vs. FireLine thread) unless otherwise noted for a specific reason. For example, if we specifically recommend using TOHO seed beads with a particular project, the project may not work out as well if you substitute and use Delica seed beads instead (which differ in shape).
Bead Color Information
We provide detailed information about the bead colors used for each of the color samples shown above on the Bead Legend / Color Key (or similarly named page) in your purchased pattern. If the tutorial you purchased does not include detailed color information for a particular color sample we used, we apologize (a few of our earliest patterns did not include this information and we no longer have those beads to reference, or they were discontinued by the manufacturer). If this is the case, please feel free to contact us and we'll do our best to provide you with general color descriptions. Be sure to let us know which particular color sample you're most interested in.
