Perler Bead Garden Markers PDF Beading Pattern #363

Learn how to use fun Perler beads to make 24 popular home garden fruits and veggies and turn them into creative DIY garden markers.

Do you, or someone you love, have a garden?  Here's a fun and colorful solution that will make your garden even more enjoyable all season long.  Creative DIY garden markers that clearly stand up and out, beautifully displaying (even from a distance) what you’ve got planted and where.  The perfect addition to your garden, these super fun and easy to make artistic mini Perler beaded fruits and vegetables, hang from wire stakes that keep them off the ground and out of the dirt.  Each vegetable marker is bent horizontally at the top so you can slide on, and easily read, the letter beads that spell out the names or varieties of each of your plants, so you won’t have to guess which one’s which anymore (great when you grow multiple varieties - such as tomatoes).

This simple bead pattern includes; 24 full-color templates (made to perfectly fit behind clear mini Perler bead trays, so you can just drop the appropriate colored Perler beads in place) with colorful, realistic images of the most popular home garden fruits and veggies (see itemized list below), an extra page of 6 blank templates so you can easily make some additional designs of your own, 5 full-color materials pages that itemize everything you’ll need for each fruit and veggie, and over 30 high-resolution full-color photos and easy-to-follow step-by-step directions.  This project is great for all ages - even if you’ve never worked with Perler beads or wire before.  You’ll have fun making these creative markers and be proud to display them or give them as wonderful gifts that will be enjoyed for years to come.  If working with kids, make sure they are supervised when heating with the iron.

Materials & Quantities Needed

Your purchased beading tutorial will include a detailed materials list of everything you'll need to make this project, including quantities and, in most cases, color information (see more about Bead Color Information below).

Substituting with Different Beads or Beading Materials

Many of our designs can be made using comparable beading materials. For example, if our pattern calls for 4mm round pearls, in most cases, you can use different types of 4mm round beads instead (such as 4mm round fire polished beads). Please note: If the pattern is for a bead weaving (or stitched) project, it's typically not recommended to use different sizes of beads than those recommended, as the original design may not work out as intended. You may also substitute recommended materials with your preferred brand (for example using Nymo vs. FireLine thread) unless otherwise noted for a specific reason. For example, if we specifically recommend using TOHO seed beads with a particular project, the project may not work out as well if you substitute and use Delica seed beads instead (which differ in shape).

Bead Color Information

We provide detailed information about the bead colors used for each of the color samples shown above on the Bead Legend / Color Key (or similarly named page) in your purchased pattern. If the tutorial you purchased does not include detailed color information for a particular color sample we used, we apologize (a few of our earliest patterns did not include this information and we no longer have those beads to reference, or they were discontinued by the manufacturer). If this is the case, please feel free to contact us and we'll do our best to provide you with general color descriptions. Be sure to let us know which particular color sample you're most interested in.
