Carrier Bead Peyote Stitch Bracelet Tutorial with Blended Colors #417
Shaped beads and two-hole beads are all the rage because they’re just so much fun to work with and create such interesting designs. Now, those crafty bead manufacturers have created two-holed beads that are designed to be covered with other beads! Yep, beads wrapped with beads! They're called “carrier beads” because they “carry” other beads. Thanks to a customer request, we “discovered” carrier beads and had fun coming up with our own unique design to wrap them up with.
For our first venture with carrier beads, we decided to go with a blended design. Color blends are always fun to make! They seamlessly incorporate your favorite hues, ensuring they go with a lot in your wardrobe, and are just so pleasing to the eye! This smooth 3-color blend can be positioned on the carrier beads in numerous ways. We show you how to achieve either a reversible design (featuring a blend to a different main color on each side of the bracelet) or a smooth blend of all three colors on each side of the bracelet. Both layouts are lovely, so you might have a hard time choosing - maybe plan on making two bracelets (in different colors) so you can try, and enjoy, them both.
This bold and beautiful bracelet measures approximately 2 cm wide (nearly 1 inch) and is finished off with an elegant 2-strand slide clasp so it’s easy to put on and take off. This is a great design for beaders of all skill levels, including absolute beginners. This simple beading pattern includes a detailed materials page, color information, a bead graph, and word chart, over 50 high-resolution full-color photos and easy to follow step-by-step directions. Because we had so much fun making the bracelet, we decided to design a coordinating necklace to complete the look. So, be sure to check out the Blended Carrier Necklace pattern for a super classy, blended ensemble. Thank you for shopping Simple Bead Patterns and, as always, bead happy!

Materials & Quantities Needed
Your purchased beading tutorial will include a detailed materials list of everything you'll need to make this project, including quantities and, in most cases, color information (see more about Bead Color Information below).
Substituting with Different Beads or Beading Materials
Many of our designs can be made using comparable beading materials. For example, if our pattern calls for 4mm round pearls, in most cases, you can use different types of 4mm round beads instead (such as 4mm round fire polished beads). Please note: If the pattern is for a bead weaving (or stitched) project, it's typically not recommended to use different sizes of beads than those recommended, as the original design may not work out as intended. You may also substitute recommended materials with your preferred brand (for example using Nymo vs. FireLine thread) unless otherwise noted for a specific reason. For example, if we specifically recommend using TOHO seed beads with a particular project, the project may not work out as well if you substitute and use Delica seed beads instead (which differ in shape).
Bead Color Information
We provide detailed information about the bead colors used for each of the color samples shown above on the Bead Legend / Color Key (or similarly named page) in your purchased pattern. If the tutorial you purchased does not include detailed color information for a particular color sample we used, we apologize (a few of our earliest patterns did not include this information and we no longer have those beads to reference, or they were discontinued by the manufacturer). If this is the case, please feel free to contact us and we'll do our best to provide you with general color descriptions. Be sure to let us know which particular color sample you're most interested in.
