DIY Leather Choker Necklace with Pearls & Handmade Clasp Beading Pattern #372
Simple, earthy, and elegant. This Knotty Leather Choker Necklace features a lovely single pearl (or another large-hole bead of your choice) knotted in the center of a simple leather necklace, finished off in the back with an elegant handmade hook and chain extender - so it’s as beautiful from the backside as it is in the front. This simple leather and pearl necklace is super cool, with a great Bohemian look and feel to it - perfect for summer, or year-round style. Wear it alone or pair it up with our coordinating Knotty Leather Earrings and Knotty Leather Bracelet for a super cool collection.
This knotted pearl necklace beading pattern (with a detailed materials page, color information, over 65 high-resolution full-color photos and easy to follow step-by-step directions), will not only show you how to tie the leather in a way to make the knots lay perfectly in the front, this DIY tutorial also includes complete wire wrap instructions that will teach you how to make your own attractive, and super tight, leather cord ends and a unique and sophisticated handmade hook clasp closure. We’ll also show you how to finish off your bohemian summer necklace with a chain extender for an adjustable (perfect) fit. Add a special touch by attaching a charm to the chain extender on the back of your necklace (the charm adds visual interest to the back and helps prevent the clasp from ever spinning around to the front). And, because this necklace has an adjustable closure, it makes a great gift for a friend or family member to cherish forever. Remember to check out our coordinating Knotty Leather Earrings and Knotty Leather Bracelet tutorials (see below) for the perfect summer collection. Thanks for looking, and bead happy!

Materials & Quantities Needed
Your purchased beading tutorial will include a detailed materials list of everything you'll need to make this project, including quantities and, in most cases, color information (see more about Bead Color Information below).
Substituting with Different Beads or Beading Materials
Many of our designs can be made using comparable beading materials. For example, if our pattern calls for 4mm round pearls, in most cases, you can use different types of 4mm round beads instead (such as 4mm round fire polished beads). Please note: If the pattern is for a bead weaving (or stitched) project, it's typically not recommended to use different sizes of beads than those recommended, as the original design may not work out as intended. You may also substitute recommended materials with your preferred brand (for example using Nymo vs. FireLine thread) unless otherwise noted for a specific reason. For example, if we specifically recommend using TOHO seed beads with a particular project, the project may not work out as well if you substitute and use Delica seed beads instead (which differ in shape).
Bead Color Information
We provide detailed information about the bead colors used for each of the color samples shown above on the Bead Legend / Color Key (or similarly named page) in your purchased pattern. If the tutorial you purchased does not include detailed color information for a particular color sample we used, we apologize (a few of our earliest patterns did not include this information and we no longer have those beads to reference, or they were discontinued by the manufacturer). If this is the case, please feel free to contact us and we'll do our best to provide you with general color descriptions. Be sure to let us know which particular color sample you're most interested in.
