DIY Sea Glass Pendant Leather Necklace with Crystal & Charm Tutorial #424
Sea glass jewelry is super cool and unique and always looks great - whether you’re dressed up for a cool night or dressed down for fun in the sun. Our charming sea glass necklace has tons of personality and makes a real statement. This beachy boho necklace features a substantial sea glass pendant dressed up with tapered wire-wrapped accouterments (including your favorite beach charm, a classic pearl and a sparkly bicone crystal for an extra splash of color and sparkle ). The pendant hangs from an earthy leather cord and is finished off with a beautiful handmade hook class, coiled cord ends, and chain extender (which has a smaller pearl wire wrapped to the bottom for an elegant touch hanging in the back).
This is a great project for DIYers of all skill levels. This simple beading pattern (which includes a detailed materials page, color information, over 120 high-resolution full-color photos and easy to follow step-by-step directions) will teach you how to drill sea glass, wire wrap, and make your own leather cord ends and fancy hook clasp with chain extender. If you don’t own a Dremel or don’t have the perfect piece of sea glass, you can find pre-drilled pieces online (just search on Etsy or eBay). Then, we’ll show you how to turn your special beach glass into a gorgeous handmade necklace (just like you’d find at high-end seaside boutiques) that you can proudly wear and enjoy all summer long. As always, thank you for shopping Simple Bead Patterns and, bead happy!

Materials & Quantities Needed
Your purchased beading tutorial will include a detailed materials list of everything you'll need to make this project, including quantities and, in most cases, color information (see more about Bead Color Information below).
Substituting with Different Beads or Beading Materials
Many of our designs can be made using comparable beading materials. For example, if our pattern calls for 4mm round pearls, in most cases, you can use different types of 4mm round beads instead (such as 4mm round fire polished beads). Please note: If the pattern is for a bead weaving (or stitched) project, it's typically not recommended to use different sizes of beads than those recommended, as the original design may not work out as intended. You may also substitute recommended materials with your preferred brand (for example using Nymo vs. FireLine thread) unless otherwise noted for a specific reason. For example, if we specifically recommend using TOHO seed beads with a particular project, the project may not work out as well if you substitute and use Delica seed beads instead (which differ in shape).
Bead Color Information
We provide detailed information about the bead colors used for each of the color samples shown above on the Bead Legend / Color Key (or similarly named page) in your purchased pattern. If the tutorial you purchased does not include detailed color information for a particular color sample we used, we apologize (a few of our earliest patterns did not include this information and we no longer have those beads to reference, or they were discontinued by the manufacturer). If this is the case, please feel free to contact us and we'll do our best to provide you with general color descriptions. Be sure to let us know which particular color sample you're most interested in.
