Our beading patterns and service
Which patterns are best for beginners?
All of our beading patterns are written so that beaders of any skill level can complete the project. But, with that said, some projects are certainly easier than others and better suited to a beginner beader. If you're new to beading, check out our collection of patterns that are the easiest for beginners to start with.
What if I get confused or run into trouble with a pattern?
Don’t hesitate to reach out - we’re always happy to help! And please, never feel like you’re bugging us or asking “stupid questions” - you’re not! You can email us at Support@SimpleBeadPatterns.com and let us know how we can help. It’s often helpful to attach a picture of your project so we can see what’s going on. Most questions or concerns are often resolved with a quick message or two.
What if a pattern ends up being too difficult, or I don’t enjoy it?
While we do our best to make patterns as fun and easy as possible, we recognize that some techniques or projects aren’t for everybody. We always want you to feel comfortable trying new designs and techniques - just know you’re not stuck with a pattern you’re not enjoying. Please reach out and let us know. We’ll issue you a full refund - no questions asked.
Can I make the same color scheme as you did?
Yes, go for it! While our written and photographed beading patterns are copyright-protected, you are welcome to use the same colors we used in our color samples. Scroll down to view our copyright policy. Please note: While our newer patterns include detailed bead color information, including the type, manufacturer, and color of all beads and findings used in each color sample, some of our earliest patterns don’t include detailed bead color information for each color sample we made. If you purchase an older pattern and would like color information for a specific jewelry sample, please contact us, and we’ll do our best to assist you.
Can I choose my own color scheme?
Of course! You’re always welcome to get creative with the color scheme to make it your own. And we love to see pictures of your finished work if you want to share! We love to show & tell (who doesn’t), so feel free to share a photo of your finished work on social media using #simplebeadpatterns.
How do I know how many beads I’ll need to buy?
Our beading patterns include a detailed Materials list of everything you’ll need for the project, including bead types, sizes, and quantities of all required beading materials and tools. So, you’ll have everything you’ll need once you purchase your pattern.
Where can I buy the same beads you use?
While we list all of the materials you’ll need on the pattern, we usually don’t tell you where to get them unless it is a very specific item that might be hard to find (which is very rare). You can find what you need at your local bead store or favorite online retailers, such as ArtBeads.com, ShipwreckBeads.com, LimaBeads.com, Amazon, and vendors on Etsy.
Do beading patterns show how to attach the end clasps?
Yes, always! Our patterns take you from start to finish so that when you’re done, all you have to do is put the jewelry on and admire your beautiful handiwork.
Can I request a pattern or make a suggestion?
We always appreciate hearing about the projects you'd like to create. If you can’t find instructions on our website for how to make a particular design or technique, feel free to submit a suggestion to us via e-mail at Support@SimpleBeadPatterns.com. Please note: We respect other designer’s copyrights and will not copy anyone else’s original work. If we feel inspired by your suggestion and think it may appeal to our customers, we may create a similar, but significantly different, design of our own. We’ll let you know if/when we come up with something so you can look at it. You are never under any obligation to purchase the pattern we design.
Are your patterns available in any other languages?
All of our beading patterns are written in English. If you prefer your pattern to be translated into another language, please don't hesitate to contact us, and we will be happy to help.
About our bead kits
Where can I find your beading kits?
You can find our extensive selection of beading kits in our Etsy shop.
What’s included in a beading kit?
Our beading kits include all the materials you’ll need to complete the project, except for the necessary tools (such as flush cutters or chain nose pliers). We take great care in building each kit, ensuring everything is included, clearly labeled, and carefully packaged so you, or your intended recipient, will have a great beading experience. There’s nothing like opening up a Simple Bead Patterns Kit, exploring all of the pretty materials, and being able to dive in and get started on your project right away.
Why are there beads left over?
Don’t worry if you have any beads left over after making your kit. To ensure you have enough, we do our best to supply you with a little extra (just in case).
What do I do if there aren’t enough supplies?
We try to let you know on each kit listing what the maximum length can be for any given project. For necklaces, we typically include enough supplies to make a necklace up to 24″ long. For bracelets, we pack enough supplies to make a bracelet with up to 8.5″ inside diameter. If you’ve run out of beads before you’ve reached your desired length, we sincerely apologize. Please contact us, and we will get what you need out in the mail to you A.S.A.P.
Downloading & viewing patterns
How do I download and view my beading patterns?
First, you need to locate the download link for the pattern you wish to open and view, either from your account on our website or from your automated order confirmation email.
Then, click on each download link (one at a time, if you purchased more than one) and select whether you would like to open and view the pattern using your default PDF viewer, or save the file first to a specific folder on your computer and then open it. The program most widely used to view PDF files, and the one we like best, is Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is free.
Can I print my beading pattern?
Yes, you may print your beading pattern so you can reference it while working on the project. However, please keep in mind that our copyright policy must be respected, which means that you may not share, sell, or give away a printed (or digital) copy of our pattern to anyone under any circumstances.
I can’t find a pattern I purchased in the past – can you help?
Yes, definitely! You can always check your account our website. Or, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to resend any patterns you have purchased from us – no, you don’t need to buy it again!
Our “Bead Happy” guarantee
We’re confident that you’ll be delighted with your purchase, but if not, please don’t worry. Just contact us with your concern, and we’ll do our best to drop whatever we’re doing to quickly correct any errors or right any wrongs, so you can always shop with confidence and bead happy!
If you’re unhappy with any pattern you’ve purchased, at your preference, we’ll either quickly resolve the issue to your complete satisfaction or immediately issue you a full refund of the purchase price!
Review our policies
Being detail-oriented, we like to have everything spelled out for us. We also like to anticipate questions and try our best to answer them so no one is left uncertain or confused. With that in mind, please take a moment to review our shop policies. And, don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about anything at all – we’re always happy to help.
Our copyright policy
Our beading patterns are protected by copyright and may not be shared, sold, or given away.

Our tutorials
We copyright our written and photographed tutorials (patterns), which represent our original and unique intellectual property (just like a book). As such, making copies of our tutorials (in whole or in part) for any purpose, including sharing, selling, or giving away, is strictly prohibited by law. We understand the temptation, but please respect our copyrights, as this is the sole means we have to support ourselves. If someone you know would like to make one of our designs, just refer them to our website so they may purchase their own copy of a pattern. Hopefully they will enjoy browsing our shop and thank you in the end.

Our designs
Our jewelry designs include projects made using popular beading techniques (which fall within the common domain and, as such, are not restricted by copyright), variations of those techniques, and, as far as we know, completely original works. As many artists do, we have often been inspired, whether consciously or unconsciously, by jewelry designs we encounter (sometimes years earlier). We never knowingly duplicate another artist’s jewelry design without getting their permission and/or referencing their original design. If and when we create a design that we know has been inspired by a published piece, we take great pains to create our own unique design by making changes to the process, materials, and/or finished feel of the piece (meeting the two criteria the U.S. courts have used to determine whether two pieces of jewelry have substantial similarity”).
What should I do if I see someone violating your copyright?
If you suspect that someone is violating our copyright, whether it’s online or in person, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We will contact the individual and handle the matter without mentioning you. We truly appreciate you keeping an eye out for us and having our backs. This is our livelihood, and we put a lot of hard work into each of our beading patterns. We appreciate your respecting our copyright and for being a valued customer!
Selling your finished jewelry
Would you like to create jewelry that you can sell to supplement your income? If so, we have absolutely no problem with you selling the jewelry that you make using our tutorials. We want you to have fun and be successful, so we don't require that you disclose our authorship and copyright (as it may complicate your ability to promote and sell your handiwork). But, just as we don't claim other people's work as our own, we ask that you not represent our designs as your own. You can proudly say that you made the piece, but please don't claim that you designed it. Good luck and sell lots!
Our teaching policy
Thank you for your interest and for respecting our copyright policy!
We both used to work at our local bead store and taught classes, so we know what it’s like to find enjoyable projects you can ethically teach in class. Of course, unless a project is one of your original designs or a standard stitch that is not copyrighted (such as a solid flat peyote stitch bracelet), you must follow the designer’s rules regarding teaching their design.
Our teaching policy
We allow our designs to be taught on one condition: each student must have a pre-purchased copy of our beading pattern before starting the class. The student can purchase the pattern before the class (via our website), or you can purchase it for them and include it in the class fee. If you purchase a copy of a pattern for them, you can email them the PDF and/or print one copy of our tutorial for each purchased copy. Tutorials may not be shared, sold, or distributed in any way. If you have a lot of interest in a class, feel free to email us at simplebeadpatterns@gmail.com and let us know how many copies of the pattern you’ll need, and we’ll see what we can do to give you a price break based on volume.
Making beading tutorials is a lot of work, and this is our family’s sole source of income (and we work from home together to care for disabled family members). Please adhere to our teaching policy and do your part to help other beaders understand and respect everyone’s copyright. Thanks so much!
Attention beading clubs and groups:
It’s a lot of fun to get together with other beaders to work on a project together. If you have a group that would like to get together to make one of our designs, please note that each person must have their own pre-purchased copy of the pattern. Please email us at simplebeadpatterns@gmail.com and let us know how many copies of the pattern will be needed. We’ll see what we can do to give you a price break based on volume (such as a special coupon you or everyone in your group can use for that tutorial). Please keep in mind that you may not share our copyrighted patterns. Each person must have their own purchased copy of the pattern (unless they live in the same household). We understand the temptation, but please respect our copyrights.
Thank you again for your interest and for respecting our copyright policy. Please feel free to email us at Support@SimpleBeadPatterns.com if you have any questions or concerns.
