Swirling Sea Glass Necklace Tutorial

Learn how to drill sea glass, make your own swirling hammered wire links, and incorporate them into this beautiful wire-wrapped necklace with crystals. We'll also show you how to make a wire hook clasp with a chain extender for an adjustable fit.  This unique summer necklace features beautiful crystal bicones tumbling along handmade wire waves, with a beautiful piece of sea glass and ocean-themed charm as the focal point (or, if you prefer, a gemstone or crystal pendant instead of sea glass). Don't worry if you've never drilled sea glass or worked with wire before; we'll hold your hand through every step, so you'll end up with a gorgeous necklace like you'd find at high-end seaside boutiques.

Recommended Materials:

- Sea glass - we used a 30 mm tall x 25 mm wide piece of glass for our seafoam colorway that's about 4 mm thick, and a 25 mm tall x 22 mm wide piece for our blue colorway that's about 4 mm thick.
- Charm - you'll want your charm to be smaller than your piece of sea glass. We used a 20 mm tall x 8 mm wide mermaid charm for our seafoam colorway and an 18 mm tall x 15 mm wide sailboat charm for our blue colorway.
- 4 mm crystal bicones
- 18 gauge German jewelry wire - a.k.a Artistic Craft Wire
